Ed Kline has been a machinist since the sixties, working on everything from F-14
landing gear R&D to early laser tag and paintball development, and just about
everything in between. He began making rayguns in the early Seventies, selling or
giving them away to friends and collectors. He began noticing that some of his props
were showing up on the occasional television series or budget science fiction film,
making him think that there might just be a market for his work in Hollywood.

In the early Eighties, a representative from a prop house in Los Angeles called
Modern Props saw some of Ed's work at a science fiction convention and
offered him a position making props for their shop. He began working on
projects to their specifications, but found that he still preferred designing and
fabricating his own creations.

His professional props made their film debut in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
Then came such memorable hits as Ice Pirates and Rage of Honor. Since then
he's created weapons and props featured in films like Beetlejuice, Total Recall,
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Captain America, Starship Troopers, Men
In Black, and Galaxy Quest, as well as television series like Babylon 5, Star
Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, B5: Crusade, and even the Drew
Carrey Show!.
