Ed Kline
has made everything from rayguns to swords, holsters and scabbards,
tools and instruments, robot models and even nut crackers. He works primarily in
aluminum, with brass and plastic accents and details. He does not make any of his
props out of resin, unlike many prop makers, and this is one of the reasons that his
work is in such demand: his props look just as good up close as they do farther
away from the camera, so directors can do even extreme close-ups without fear of
the prop looking unrealistic.
