Cadriana is a vampire, a role-playing game character of Ed's long time housemate Kim. Ragoczy is the captain of whichever starship she and her partner Walter manage to cobble together at any given time.

Walter is Cadriana Ragoczy's partner, and an engineering prodigy. But alas, as with many geniuses, he is a bit absent minded. Walter is the role-playing character of Kim's husband, Ben.
